Decadent Caramel and Vanilla Ice Cream Recipe

Ice Cream

Here’s a simple recipe for caramel and vanilla ice cream:

Ingredients:

– 2 cups heavy cream
– 1 cup whole milk
– 3/4 cup granulated sugar
– 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
– 1/2 cup caramel sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
– Pinch of salt

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Ice Cream Base:
– In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream and whole milk. Heat over medium-low heat until it begins to steam, but not boil. Remove from heat.

2. Mix in the Sugar:
– In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and a pinch of salt. Gradually pour the sugar mixture into the warm milk mixture, whisking constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved.

3. Add Vanilla Extract:
– Stir in the vanilla extract, ensuring it’s evenly distributed.

4. Chill the Mixture:
– Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. This allows the flavors to meld and the mixture to thoroughly chill.

5. Churn the Ice Cream:
– Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, typically for about 20-25 minutes, or until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

6. Swirl in Caramel Sauce:
– In the last few minutes of churning, slowly drizzle in the caramel sauce. It will create swirls of caramel throughout the ice cream.

7. Transfer and Freeze:
– Transfer the ice cream to a lidded container, layering it with additional drizzles of caramel sauce. Smooth the top and cover with a piece of parchment paper before sealing with the lid. Freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.

8. Serve:
– Scoop the ice cream into bowls or cones. Drizzle with extra caramel sauce before serving.
