Homemade Chicken Spicy Patties with Butter: A Flavorful Snack Recipe

Here’s a recipe for Chicken Spicy Patties with Butter:

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup cold water

For the Chicken Filling:

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped (adjust to taste)
  • 250g ground chicken
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint leaves

For Assembling and Frying:

  • Flour for dusting
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Breadcrumbs for coating
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder. Add the cubed butter and rub it into the flour mixture until it resembles breadcrumbs.
  2. Gradually add cold water and knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, prepare the chicken filling. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  4. Add minced garlic, ginger paste, and chopped green chili. Sauté for another minute.
  5. Add ground chicken to the pan and cook until it turns white and starts to brown.
  6. Stir in turmeric powder, chili powder, garam masala powder, and salt. Cook for a few more minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the spices are fragrant.
  7. Remove the pan from heat and stir in chopped coriander leaves and mint leaves. Let the filling cool completely.
  8. Divide the dough into small equal-sized balls. Roll out each ball into a small circle on a floured surface.
  9. Place a spoonful of the chicken filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over the filling and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
  10. Dip each patty into beaten egg and coat with breadcrumbs.
  11. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the patties in batches and fry until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
  12. Remove the patties from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  13. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce or chutney.
