Honey Almond Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • All-purpose flour: 1 ½ cups
  • Baking powder: 1 ½ teaspoons
  • Salt: ¼ teaspoon
  • Butter: ½ cup (softened)
  • Honey: ¾ cup
  • Eggs: 2 large
  • Milk: ½ cup
  • Almond extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Sliced almonds: ½ cup (for topping)

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream butter and honey: In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and honey until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs: Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next.
  5. Add almond extract: Mix in the almond extract.
  6. Combine dry ingredients and milk: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the dry ingredients.
  7. Transfer to pan: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
  8. Add almond topping: Sprinkle the sliced almonds evenly on top of the batter.
  9. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Cool: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
